Paralegal
Employment in paralegal services is expected to have a very positive growth rate throughout Ontario. To help meet this growing demand, CTS Canadian Career College has worked with leading employers to develop and deliver one of the most effective programs in the industry.
Paralegals are trained to prepare legal documents, open and organize files, perform legal research and appear in court. As a result, this profession has become an increasingly valuable resource to law firms and businesses alike. By the end of the program, students will have learned the advocacy and research skills that will qualify them to interview and represent clients in Claims Court, Administrative Tribunals, the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice for provincial and criminal matters. They can also work in legal departments in government ministries, private corporations, trade unions and professional associations.
Students will gain valuable experience during a 120-hour placement arranged through the College. By successfully completing our program in 52 weeks, our graduates possess the skills needed to pass the Law Society of Ontario licensing exam and practice as independent paralegals.

As a relatively small school, CTS Canadian Career College is able to offer lots of one-on-one time with its instructors and administrative staff. Vice President of Academics Amanda Carvalho states, “We are proud to have maintained the small size of our college as it helps us to keep the atmosphere collegial and supportive; students work closely with faculty, administrative staff and with each other. Additionally, our small size has allowed for us to maintain our high student employment rates, as well as allowing us to provide valuable services such as on-site financial aid, on-site admissions assistance, free mature student tutoring and testing, help finding appropriate and affordable housing, and job search assistance – to only name a few.”
Added to this determination to keep CTS small and collegial is a commitment to hiring only quality instructors who have relevant workforce experience in the areas that they teach, as well as to ensuring that program curricula remain among the best in the country, having allocated time and resources toward certifying and accrediting their programs with several highly-competitive and rigorous accrediting bodies. The college remains one of a select group of colleges in Ontario and in fact Canada that has been granted accreditation for the Pharmacy Technician program (by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs), the Primary Care Paramedic program (by the Canadian Medical Association) and the Paralegal program (by the Law Society of Ontario).
